Mission
The New Jersey Child Support Program is mandated under federal law to assist parents in obtaining the financial support necessary for their children to prosper in a stable setting. Both parents have a responsibility to support their children financially and emotionally
Services Available:
- Locates the non-custodial parent by using federal and state tools such as the Parent Locator Services.
- Establishes legal fatherhood for your child.
- Establishes a support order, which include financial support, medical support, health insurance coverage, or help with child care for your child.
- Collects and distributes child support payments from the non-custodial parent.
- Enforces unpaid child and medical support and child care.
- Reviews and recommends changes to your support order.
- Works with other states and countries on child support orders that cross over borders.
- Works through the court system in New Jersey to resolve disputes, as necessary, and ensure due process.
